The problem we’re working on

Preparing an assessment involves many connected decisions: what students should demonstrate, how a question will reveal their understanding, and how the response will be judged. Moving between documents and tools can make it harder to keep those decisions together.

Our focus is a practical assessment workflow that helps teachers prepare and review materials while retaining control over what students see.

What guides the work

• Purpose before volume. More questions are only useful when they serve a clear learning goal.
• Teacher judgement. Suggestions should be available for teachers to inspect and change.
• Clear communication. Explain what a tool does, where it is available and what still needs to be established.
• School context. Curriculum, access needs and privacy requirements deserve attention before classroom use.
