Use the right source
Confirm the learning area, year level, curriculum version and jurisdiction used by your school. Read the original description and surrounding context.
Avoid treating an old code or a product label as a substitute for checking the source.
Make the connection explicit
Write what the task asks a student to demonstrate. Explain how that evidence relates to the selected learning goal. If it addresses only part of a goal, say which part.
Read the proposed answer alongside the question. A task may use the right topic vocabulary while asking for a different kind of understanding.
A record you can reuse
- Task title and version.
- Authoritative curriculum source and date checked.
- The part of the learning goal addressed.
- Expected evidence in the student response.
- Review comments and any remaining uncertainty.
Discuss the gaps
Check whether other tasks are needed to cover the unit’s intended learning. Curriculum coverage is a judgement across a sequence, not a number attached to one question.
Ask a provider to demonstrate the same review process for a real sample from your subject.
