Name the exact connection
“Integrates with your LMS” is too broad to make a decision. Identify the learning system and the action you need: opening an activity, bringing in a class list, creating an assignment or returning a result.
Ask which versions, account permissions and subscription levels are involved. A link to another website is different from exchanging data with it.
Walk through a real example
Request a demonstration using a non-sensitive test class. Follow the workflow from the teacher’s setup to the student’s view and the final result.
Include an update and a failure. For example, what happens if the class changes, an assignment is edited or the connection is interrupted?
Questions for the provider
- Which information moves in each direction?
- Who authorises the connection and can revoke it?
- How are duplicate records, changed classes and failed transfers handled?
- Can teachers see whether a result arrived successfully?
- What setup, support and export arrangements are included?
Agree the pilot scope
Record the particular workflow being tested and what would count as success. Keep other integrations out of the initial promise until they have been demonstrated.
GoHiMark’s public preview does not connect to a school LMS. Discuss your system and required workflow before making an integration assumption.
